Naukri Alternatives for Job Seekers: Do You Want to Be Found, or to Find Better-Fit Jobs?
Naukri lets recruiters discover your profile through Resdex. QuratedAI takes a different approach, using your profile to evaluate jobs without a recruiter-side candidate database.

Naukri's Resdex product page advertises recruiter access to a resume database of 80 million+ jobseekers (Naukri, Resdex resume database access, read 27 August 2026). That is a count of candidates, not of jobs. One of them is probably you.
Most comparisons of job platforms argue about features. This one is about something simpler. When you search for work, there are two different things you can build for.
One is discoverability. You keep a profile that recruiters can search, so that roles arrive without you looking for them.
The other is selectivity. You keep a profile that a system uses to judge jobs on your behalf, so you spend your evenings on the four postings that hold up instead of the forty that do not.
Naukri does both, and its recruiter side is a large, documented, paid product. QuratedAI does only the second, on purpose. There is no recruiter side, and recruiters cannot search or browse people who use it.
Neither design is better. They answer different questions. This piece sets out what each one does, using each company's own documentation, so you can work out which question is yours.
The short answer
| Naukri | QuratedAI | |
|---|---|---|
| Search and browse jobs yourself | Yes | No. There is no job board to browse |
| Apply to jobs on the platform | Yes | No. You apply on the company's own page |
| Roles arrive without you searching | Yes, recommendations and recruiter mail | Yes, a scored brief each morning |
| Recruiter-side candidate database | Yes, Resdex | None |
| Recruiters can search your profile | Yes, by documented search criteria | No |
| Your profile used to evaluate postings for you | Not documented as its purpose | Yes, this is its only purpose |
| Name, email or phone in the matching profile | Profile carries your contact details for recruiters | No name, no email, no phone number |
| Reasons attached to each role | Not documented | Yes, a score with the reasons behind it and the red flags |
| Likely to suit | People who want inbound contact and a large marketplace to search | People whose problem is deciding what deserves an application |
Every row is sourced in the section that explains it.
What we can and cannot tell you
Read this before the rest, because it sets the limit on everything below.
We can tell you, from published documentation:
- Naukri operates a recruiter-side candidate database called Resdex and sells access to it.
- Recruiters search it using documented criteria, including keywords found in the profile, the experience summary, the current organisation, the designation and the institute name.
- Resume freshness, defined as when a candidate was last active, is one of those criteria.
- QuratedAI has no recruiter side, and its matching profile excludes name, email and phone number.
We cannot tell you:
- Whether QuratedAI surfaces better roles than Naukri for your field. We have not run a controlled coverage comparison between the two, and until we do we will not claim one.
- Whether either platform leads to more interviews or offers. Nobody can honestly tell you that, including anyone who does.
- How Naukri ranks candidates inside a recruiter's search results. That is not documented on the pages we read, so we have not described it.
Answering the first two properly would need a matched sample of the same profiles run through both systems over a fixed window. That is a study we have not done, and this page would be dishonest if it pretended otherwise.
Naukri is not only a job search site
Naukri's own jobseeker FAQ says it plainly. There are two ways to get a job on Naukri: apply to listings, or get discovered, because a profile you create becomes part of the Naukri jobseeker database (Naukri jobseeker FAQ, Create Naukri Profile, read 27 August 2026).
That second route is a paid product on the recruiter side. Naukri's recruiter help pages document how it works.
A recruiter signs in to a sub-user account and runs a search from the Resdex advanced search page, entering criteria and returning the resumes that match (Naukri recruiter FAQ, how to search resumes in Resdex, read 27 August 2026).
The keyword field searches inside several parts of a resume, including the candidate's profile, their summary of experience, their current organisation, their designation and the name of their educational institute. A recruiter can search for people currently working at a named company, or graduates of a named institute (Naukri recruiter FAQ, keyword search in Resdex, read 27 August 2026).
Resume freshness is a documented search criterion. Naukri defines it as when a candidate was last active on the site, and recruiters can search on it. That is our reading of one line of documentation (Naukri recruiter FAQ, resume freshness, read 27 August 2026), and we are not claiming freshness changes your ranking, because the page does not say that.
Search results are grouped into four sets: All Resumes, Premium Resumes, Confidential Resumes and Featured Resumes. Naukri describes Premium as candidates it has recognised for a markedly high quality of work experience or education, and Confidential as handpicked premium candidates who want to keep a job change quiet (Naukri Recruiter Zone, candidate clusters on the search results page, read 27 August 2026).
So the profile you fill in to apply for jobs is doing a second job at the same time. It is the record recruiters search.
Your profile is not searched once. It is subscribed to.
Most people picture recruiter search as someone typing a skill into a box and reading what comes back. Naukri's recruiter documentation describes something with more moving parts than that.
| What the recruiter side can do | Naukri, per its recruiter documentation | QuratedAI |
|---|---|---|
| Run a keyword search across your resume | Yes, including your profile, experience summary, current organisation, designation and institute name | No recruiter side exists |
| Filter on how recently you were active | Yes. Resume freshness is a documented search criterion | No |
| Surface you because you resemble another candidate | Yes. Resdex includes a recommender that finds candidates similar to ones the recruiter has already selected | No |
| Receive standing alerts when new matching resumes appear | Yes, on parameters and at a frequency the recruiter sets | No |
| Save you to a folder, shortlist you, forward your resume to a colleague | Yes | No |
| Contact you directly | Yes, by email or SMS from the Resdex account | No. There is nobody to contact you |
| Reach your name, email or phone number through the matching profile | Your Naukri profile carries contact details, which is the point of it | No name, no email, no phone number in the file |

Two rows are worth reading twice.
The recommender row means you can appear in front of a recruiter without having matched anything you would recognise as a search for you. Naukri describes Resdex as including a data-driven recommender system that helps find candidates similar to the candidates a recruiter selects. You resemble someone they already liked, and that is enough to put you on the screen.
The alerts row means the search is not a single event. Naukri documents regular resume alerts sent to a recruiter's email, on parameters the recruiter decides and at a frequency they choose. Set once, running afterwards. If you update your resume on a Sunday night, the system that notices may not be the one you were thinking about.
Contact runs by email from the Resdex account, either as a custom message or as one carrying the details of a job the recruiter has posted. It can also run by SMS.
None of this is hidden. It sits on Naukri's own recruiter help pages, written for the people paying for it. Naukri also documents real controls on the candidate side, which is more than many products in this category bother with: you can block named companies from seeing your profile, which is what most people use to hide from their current employer, and you can switch recruiter email off entirely (Naukri, how to keep your job search confidential, read 27 August 2026).
The point is not that any of this is sinister. It is that most people have never read the recruiter side of the product they are listed in, and the decision about whether to be in it is worth making on purpose.
What are you buying when you pay for visibility?
Naukri's four candidate groups include one that is defined by payment. Naukri describes Featured Resumes as candidates who have availed jobseeker services from Naukri and are actively looking for a change (Naukri Recruiter Zone, candidate clusters on the search results page, read 27 August 2026).
Read that definition literally. It describes how a recruiter sees you in a results page. It does not describe the quality of what lands in your inbox afterwards, and Naukri does not promise that it does.
That distinction is the whole argument of this article. Being seen more often and being sent better-matched roles are two different objectives. A paid visibility service works on the first one. If your actual complaint is that the roles reaching you sit above or below your level, more visibility is solving a problem you may not have.
How QuratedAI uses a profile differently
QuratedAI has no recruiter side, so there is no equivalent of Resdex. Recruiters cannot search, browse or buy access to people who use it.
The profile still exists, and its only function is to judge postings. Our privacy policy sets out exactly what that file holds: your roles, skills, industries, experience band, acceptable locations, work mode, salary floor and matching rules. It carries no name, no email address and no phone number, and it is named by a one-way hash of your sign-in identifier rather than by you (privacy policy updated 9 August 2026).
The system reads more than 12,000 company career pages every morning, scores each posting against your resume, and sends a brief with the reasons and the red flags written next to each role. How it works describes the run in full, and where we look lists the sources.
Here is the cost of that design, stated once and not softened. Because there is no candidate database, nobody can find you through QuratedAI. No recruiter will open your profile and write to you. If inbound contact is what is currently moving your search forward, we take that away and give you nothing in exchange for it.
"But I want recruiters to find me."
Then Naukri offers something QuratedAI deliberately does not, and you should use Naukri.
Inbound recruiter contact is a real channel. For some fields and some experience bands it is the main one. A product with no recruiter side cannot replicate it, and we are not going to pretend that a scored morning brief is the same thing in different packaging.
QuratedAI is not a replacement for recruiter discovery. It never will be, because the thing that would make it one is the thing we chose not to build.
"Then why would I use QuratedAI?"
Because for a lot of people the shortage is not attention. It is judgement.
If you are applying to 30 or 40 roles a month and hearing back from two, more inbound mail does not obviously fix that. The hours are going into reading postings, deciding which ones are worth a tailored application, and discovering halfway down the page that the role wants four more years than you have.
That is the part QuratedAI works on. Your profile is an input to a decision about a job, and only that. What comes back is a shortlist carrying the score and the reasons it matched, with anything to watch out for written next to it, so a role takes a few seconds to accept or reject rather than a few minutes.
We have written separately about how this differs from LinkedIn job alerts and from Naukri and foundit alerts. The distinction in this piece is narrower. It is about what your profile is being used for. On one system it is also a record recruiters search. On the other it is only a yardstick for jobs.
Which one are you?
| If this sounds like you | Better fit |
|---|---|
| I want recruiters to find my profile and contact me | Naukri |
| I want to search a large Indian job marketplace myself | Naukri |
| Most of my current interviews came from inbound recruiter mail | Naukri |
| I would rather not maintain a searchable candidate profile | QuratedAI may fit better |
| My problem is deciding which postings deserve an application | QuratedAI may fit better |
| I want roles that only ever appear on a company's own careers page | QuratedAI may fit better |
| I want both inbound contact and help filtering | Both, running side by side |
| I want networking, referrals and conversations with people inside companies | Neither. That is LinkedIn's territory, and a referral will do more for you than any scoring system, ours included |
Can you use both?
For most people, probably yes, and the reason is that they cost you different things.
Naukri costs you a maintained public-facing profile and gives you a marketplace and inbound contact. QuratedAI costs you nothing on the discoverability side, because it has nothing to do with it, and gives you a filtered read of the market each morning.
If inbound recruiter mail is working for you, keep it. Nothing here suggests deleting an account that is producing interviews.
FAQ
Can recruiters find my profile on Naukri? Yes. Naukri's jobseeker FAQ states that creating a profile makes it part of the Naukri jobseeker database, and recruiters search that database through Resdex. Naukri also documents settings to block named companies or switch off recruiter email.
What is Naukri Resdex? It is Naukri's paid resume database product for recruiters. Its product page advertises access to 80 million+ jobseeker resumes. Recruiters sign in, run searches with criteria such as keywords and resume freshness, and contact the candidates the search returns.
Can a recruiter contact me on Naukri without searching for me? Naukri's recruiter documentation describes a recommender that surfaces candidates similar to ones a recruiter has already selected, and regular resume alerts delivered on parameters the recruiter sets. Both are documented features of Resdex. What any individual recruiter does with them is not something we can see.
Can I use QuratedAI to get discovered by recruiters? No. There is no recruiter side and no candidate database. If discovery is your goal, QuratedAI does not serve it.
Does QuratedAI replace Naukri? Not for anyone who wants the marketplace or the inbound contact. It replaces the part of your evening spent reading postings to work out which ones are worth an application.
Is QuratedAI more private than Naukri? That is too broad a question to answer honestly. The specific difference is documented: Naukri runs a searchable candidate database, QuratedAI does not, and QuratedAI's matching profile holds no name, email or phone number. Both companies publish privacy policies and settings, and you should read both rather than take a comparison's word for it.
Which is better for finding a job, Naukri or QuratedAI? We have no data that would let us answer that, and any product that answers it confidently is guessing. The answerable version is the question at the top of this page.
Your move
Four questions, in the order that matters:
- Do I want recruiters searching for me right now?
- Where did my last three real conversations with an employer come from, inbound or outbound?
- Is my bigger problem being found, or deciding what to apply to?
- If ten good roles landed in my inbox tomorrow, would I have the hours to apply to them properly?
Then two things you can do tonight, in about ten minutes:
- Open your Naukri settings and check your visibility and blocked-companies list. Whatever you decide, decide it on purpose rather than by default.
- Count last month's applications and the replies. If the ratio is the problem, more visibility is not the fix you are looking for.
If your answer is that you do not need another place to be found, but you do need help deciding which roles deserve your attention, that is the problem QuratedAI is built around. The free plan reads the market every morning and sends what fits.
